Exit PASS Engineering – enter SDL Passolo: The Bonn based Passolo team is starting a new era in their company history with this new motto – and a new company structure. “SDL Passolo 2007 is our best-selling version ever. We are leveraging the technology and scale of the SDL Group to accelerate the growth of our product line-up,” remarks Claudia Fricke, the company’s Marketing Manager.
The developers of SDL Passolo 2007 attribute the increased customer interest to their product’s technological lead. “Customer demand for .NET support is steadily growing. Our localization tool was the first one to offer combined support for .NET 3.5 and WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation),” says Claudia Fricke. “Our cutting edge .NET technology combined with superior integration with SDL Trados translation memory and terminology products is a winning combination. In addition, SDL’s world-wide infrastructure allows us to extend our reach and maximize the support we can offer to our customers"
To accommodate the growing demand worldwide, the company is planning a number of changes this summer. PASS Engineering GmbH, who developed PASSOLO 10 years ago, is changing its name to SDL Passolo GmbH with Florian Sachse, founder and CTO of the company, as the managing director. Former CEO and co-founder Achim Herrmann will take on the role of Senior Business Consultant, focusing on major customers and their particular requirements in the area of software localization. Claudia Fricke will continue as Marketing Manager, now responsible for SDL Passolo marketing worldwide; Nadir Moubarrid, another long-standing member of the Passolo team, will take up the position of Business Development Manager EMEA with a new colleague, Nina Sturm, providing sales support.
Claudia Fricke summarizes the strategy for 2008: "Besides technological leadership, our forte has always been a very close connection to our customers. We are expanding on this concept by strengthening our team, which is how we will continue to maintain our market leadership in software localization tools.”
